Ah, well...

For all three of you who read this blog, or even check it from eon to eon to see if I've rediscovered interest in it, hello! I've neglected this thing for, oh, five months now? Well, fortunately, its MY blog, darnit, and I'll make a post whenever I feel like it.

I'm in Colorado Springs now, completing my culiary externship at the Broadmoor hotel. Pretty kickass experience, but I'm feeling the yearning for Texas men and food daily. We'll see what happens.

Vida Loca

Obviously, I haven't been sitting in front of the laptop a whole lot lately...

The six week vacation of one class, two days a week, ended last Monday. I'm in Baking and Pastry now, so its back to the 12-5 schedule. I'm also taking 3 hours of regular Summer School on top of that, plus still caring for my grandmother. My weekends have become precious and distant!

Baking is zen. Its keeping me sane through a crazy-ass summer. So happy.

Ok, perpetual motion resuming....NOW!

where are you, sunshine?

I'm sitting in my apartment, bathing suit on, towel by the door. A blanket olouds is hiding the sun. Sad.

On the brighter side (if you'll pardon the pun), I'm 100 pages in to a new book, I have a comfy couch, and a dog who favors snuggling in to most any other activity. Saturdays are the best.

She knows I'm sad. She's been following me around for the past 24 hours, even more than usual. Most of the time, she's really just interested when I'm walking in (or out) of the door, in the kitchen, or getting her doggie food. Last night, she tucked herself so tightly next to me under the covers that I almost wanted to schooch her away a bit...but didn't. This morning, she was on my heels as I stripped the sheets off my bed, standing outside my shower door, and is currently sitting on my feet beneath my computer desk. She's not overly doting, mind you, she's just close. I guess this is what dog people say is them detecting how you feel? Is it sad that I love this dog so much?
